On utilise aujourd'hui cette phrase lorsque quelqu'un doit assimiler de nombreuses connaissances ou bien s'adapter à une situation radicalement nouvelle. Parfois on ne garde que la seconde partie de la phrase (" before breakfast") lorsque quelqu'un a fait quelque chose très rapidement. Ainsi on pourra dire They are only short novels, I used to read two of them before breakfast ("ces romans sont très courts, il m'arrivait d'en lire deux avant le petit déjeuner"). -
